Maintenance Engineer - 105581 - MEH
Hereford
Role: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Hereford
Salary: £35,000 - 43,000 + overtime
Shift: Mon - Thurs (8am - 4.30pm) Friday (8am - 3.30pm)
Permanent Position
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering company based in Hereford.
This market leading engineering business, operating in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and transportation.
The Specialist Technologies facility in Hereford is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to strengthen the proactive and reactive support for manufacturing operations where problem solving skills in electro[1]mechanical systems are a key requirement.
Main responsibilities:
* Timely and effective response to machine breakdowns.
* Diligent application and development of preventative maintenance measures.
* Insightful & pro-active continuous improvement to enhance safety, asset reliability & efficiency.
* Support activities related to legal compliance.
* Support the business in maintaining its accreditations.
* Co-ordinate and supervise sub-contractors.
* Assist with the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
* Work effectively with the business to deliver excellent customer service.
* Assist with the maintenance of suitable spares inventory.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
* Good general education, with strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills
* HND in electro-mechanical systems or equivalent with track record of hands-on application.
* Experience working with compressors, pumps, cooling systems and PLC controlled high temperature furnaces is desirable.
* Effective approach to problem solving is essential.
* Diligent, methodical and accurate with high attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills and an ability to work well within small teams.
* Ability to reliably interact and work safely with complex, high risk electro-mechanical systems.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
* Electrical qualification is essential together with mechanical aptitude.
* Flexibility to working hours to react to breakdowns/contractor supervision etc.
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to work on your own and with others, an enthusiastic team player
Salary / package:
* Pension - match contribution from 4% - 10%
* Life Assurance - 2 x annual salary rising to 4 x if join Company pension

* An entitlement to full pay whilst off sick for a limited number of days (in addition to your statutory sick pay entitlement)
* 25 days holiday plus national holidays
