Senior Solar PV CAD Designer

Gloucester

The Role

As a Senior CAD Designer you’ll play an essential role within our Solar PV design team. With demand for solar PV installations continuing to increase rapidly, this role has been created to support our design team, ensuring our installers and clients have access to accurate Solar designs.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing a minimum team of two (CAD designer and Design Administrator)
• Providing technical CAD support to other members of the team
• Liaising with clients to understand their requirements and design briefs
• Building and maintaining client relationships
• Managing multiple projects and assigning projects to designers
• Reviewing designs prior to issuing for installation
• Ensuring projects are prioritised to meet tight deadlines
• Creating solar PV designs using AutoCAD as and when needed

Requirements

• Experience supervising a small team
• Minimum of 2 years’ AutoCAD experience
• PVSol or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential
• Electrical/Solar PV knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
• Organised and the ability to prioritise several projects
• Strong IT skills (including Excel)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Excellent communicator, with a professional approach and the confidence to liaise with colleagues and customers at all levels
• Attention to detail and accuracy, even when working under pressure
• Positive, flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt as priorities change
• Highly motivated and pro-active
