An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic team working on cutting-edge engineering solutions. This role offers the chance to contribute to the full lifecycle of mechanical design, from concept through to in-service
The role
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and define design solutions for assemblies, components, or systems.
Produce technical drawings in line with ISO standards, ensuring accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design integration and functionality.
Assist in resolving manufacturing and installation issues by developing innovative design solutions.
Support design reviews, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Interface with customers and suppliers to manage design requirements and procurement specifications.
Maintain and update project documentation throughout the design lifecycle.
Stay up to date with the latest industry best practices, tools, and technologies.
Experience & Qualifications Essential:
ONC/HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience in mechanical design within a relevant industry.
Proficiency in CAD software and engineering drawing practices.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
Membership of a relevant Professional Institute.
Experience in commercial or defence projects.
