Technical Estimator - 00211140

Tewkesbury

We have a new opportunity for a Technical Estimator to join an established and thriving team in our client's Tewkesbury office. This is a full-time, permanent position with scope to develop and grow, so would suit an ambitious Estimator looking for a new challenge.

In this role, the Technical Estimator will be responsible for:

* Preparing detailed cost estimates for ventilation systems from project specifications and information gained on site visits
* Reviewing technical requirements, using drawings and specifications to build accurate estimates, noting challenges and risks that may be posed
* Travelling to sites around the UK to conduct assessments and surveys, although this is predominantly an office-based role
* Working with the Project Management and Sales Teams to support with winning new bids and delivering on existing projects
* Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive and efficient materials and services

To be successful in this Technical Estimator role, a candidate needs:

* A demonstrable background within a field such as fire and security or ventilation system installation
* Experience of technical estimating or project costing work
* The knowledge and ability to understand technical schematics, specifications and drawings
* An underpinning understanding of construction or building safety and security systems
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
* Strong IT skills, with the competence to use estimation software as well as MS Office
