Shift Maintenance Engineer
Stonehouse
Reports To: Engineering Coordinator
Employing Company: Dairy Partners Limited
Department/Location: Engineering - Stonehouse
Shift Pattern: Lates/Nights (2-10pm wk1 Monday-Friday / 10pm-6am wk 2 Monday to Friday)
Job Summary:
To be responsible for proactively supporting the site functions which will include maintaining and repairing all site machinery and site services to include the improvement of equipment reliability and planned preventative maintenance. Support the production Team Leaders and Operators to improve performance and analyse OEE data to make corrective actions to improve plant reliability.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities at both sites:
- Develops and maintains an integrated Production operation to agreed health, safety and quality engineering and technical standards.
- Optimises line performance to meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators in the areas of equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Carries out planned maintenance activities and suggests ways to improve them based on observations and history and makes them happen.
- Routinely analyses line performance data and takes appropriate action to improve performance.
- Participates and leads continuous improvement and problem solving activities to improve performance.
- Develops systems to ensure correct operation of equipment and facilities and improves methods to manage processes (from changeovers to reaction plans).
- Owns part of the reliability programme to improve the performance of allocated machines.
- Ensures appropriate information is captured on plant performance, maintenance activities to drive a predictive approach to tasks and to prevent equipment failures.
- Conducts safety, quality and GMP inspections/audits and recommends appropriate action.
- Coaches team members to carry out asset care and condition monitoring tasks.

Skills and Abilities:
- Able to demonstrate a track record of working as part of a team.
- Able to use their own initiative and challenge current practices.
- Able to drive continuous improvement and promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.
- Good communicator and well organised.
- Be flexible as and when required.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience of working in a fast moving manufacturing environment. Food production experience is essential.
- Must be qualified to HNC or City and Guilds Part 3 skilled discipline, time served apprenticeship.
- IOSH Health and Safety would be advantageous but must demonstrate sound health and safety knowledge.
- Able to demonstrate world class manufacturing techniques would be desirable (e.g. Lean, TPM/RCA).
