Come and join us at our Gloucester Wall’s factory where we are looking for enthusiastic and driven Machine Operators to help us make Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum, Wall’s, and Cornetto.

We’re eager to find people who have a passion for teamwork, a positive attitude, and who are results orientated. Experience is not essential as full training will be provided. Please be aware the role is manual in nature.

MACHINE OPERATOR - JOB PURPOSE

The Machine Operator role is responsible for the safe operation of production equipment to deliver customer requirements through completion of the production plan, adhering to quality standards and maximising cost effectiveness, optimal running and equipment efficiency. You will be expected to carry out Autonomous Maintenance such as Cleaning, Lubrication and inspection activities and record any issues/problems. The Machine Operator should master the operation of a series of machines in order to provide factory resilience.

ESSENTIAL:

• Proficient in Reading, Writing and Maths. This will support recording of data and review of machine performance.
• Able to work well in a team, supporting your colleagues where needed.
• Able to demonstrate a willingness to learn.
• Carry out training of new team members when needed.
• Effective communicator.
• Can maintain focus and discipline for the task whilst demonstrating good problem-solving skills to protect output targets.
• Able to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, key to food manufacturing.

PACKAGE:

• Starting salary £25,707 (Full time) or £17,995 (seasonal contract)
• Once fully trained salary increases to £27,627 (Full time) or £19,339 (seasonal contract)
• 22% - 43% shift allowance depending on shift (up to £11,054 Full Time)
• Shift patterns consist of a rotation of day and night shifts through the week following either a 24/5 pattern or a 24/7 pattern
• Opportunities for part time working – please let us know at interview
