IT Donations Co-Ordinator (Part-time)
Cheltenham
How would you like to work for a local international Charity?
The ITSA Digital Trust (ITSA) isbased in Leckhampton, Cheltenham. It is a UK-registered charity with a mission to transform lives through improved access to IT equipment and IT skills in Africa and the UK.
The used computer equipment which we collect is refurbished by us and then shipped to schools in some of the poorest countries on the African continent. We have collected over 130,000 computers and laptops and helped more than six million children in Africa to gain access to IT, as well as supporting many charities and community organisations in the UK.
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person to contact schools, businesses and other organisations and offer to collect their unwanted, working computer equipment. No selling is involved and no asking for money, although ‘sales’ skills would be useful.
The main objectives of the role are as follows:
- Identify corporate bodies, to ask for computer donations
- Maintain and develop relationships with new equipment donors
- Undertake cost-effective, targeted sales activities to schools and businesses whether by phone or email, including cold calling
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing equipment donors
- Maintain detailed records of leads and donations in ITSA’s database
- Ensure acost-effective and efficient collection of IT equipment
- Work collaboratively with any other IT Donations Co-Ordinators
- Provide support to other members of the team with any reasonable duties and responsibilities.
The skills and experience we are seeking are:
- Excellent telephone manner with the ability to make cold calls, talk to potential donors, get through to the right contact and make a confident and engaging pitch
- Good IT skills to include Word, Excel and Email
- Knowledge of CRM database. Training will be provided.
- Previous experience of a similar ‘sales’ role
- Knowledge of computers and accompanying equipment
Holidays: 28 days per annum to include Bank and Public Holidays pro rata
