Performance and Planning Officer - 6157

Gloucester

Role Type Police Staff

Local Policing/ Business Area Governance and Compliance

Department Planning

Location HQ Waterwells

Grade SC6

Salary £30,783 - £32,772

Hours per Week 37

Type of Contract Permanent

Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our small but influential Planning Team working 37 hours per week. The role involves supporting Heads of Departments and senior police officers with their business planning. It’s an opportunity to work with departments across our busy organisation and be a part of finding solutions to their challenges.

You will help gather information for key documents and add relevant objectives with performance measures to business plans ensuring that they align to policing priorities and our Corporate Strategy.

As an ambassador for the Planning Team, you will need to use your initiative to work closely with other team members yet confident to work independently when required. You’ll have your own portfolio of teams to look after. It’s important that you can build a strong rapport with others; being able to consult and gather accurate information and help overcome obstacles.  The role demands a curious mind – able to ask questions, challenge the norm and think strategically to see the “big picture”.

Ideally you will have some previous experience in business planning or risk reporting but full training and support is available. Of more importance is the ability to be organised, resilient and inventive.

You will need to be proficient in using Microsoft Office software and have excellent communication skills. It is really important that you are able to demonstrate an aptitude for good written work.

We hope to interview on 18th or 19th January 2024.

Gloucestershire Constabulary offers agile working (a mixture of home and office working) where appropriate. The team’s office base is the Gloucestershire Police HQ which is just off junction 12 of the M5 and offers benefits including Local Government Pension, flexible working within core hours, free parking, on-site gym, and canteen and many active Sports and Social Clubs.

Please refer to the Role Profile document when completing the Statement in support of your application section of the form. In this section, you are required to provide evidence with specific examples for each of the Essential criteria included under the Experience and Qualifications section of the Role Profile. For each of the criteria, please write a paragraph detailing how your experience, qualifications, skills and abilities meet the minimum criteria for the role. Applicants who do not provide this required evidence will unfortunately not be invited to interview.

If you require help and support with your application, you can register your interest with Better Together - Gloucestershire Constabulary (tal.net)
