Barnardo's Targeted Family Support service is looking to recruit a number of As and When Assistant Project Workers who will have a valuable role within our friendly and creative team.
Working on an As and When basis means you can choose the flexibility that works for you. This includes
- The number of hours you want/are able to work each week – from 0-37
- The days that suit you best – this might be different each week depending on your circumstances
Roles are initially funded until 31st March 2024 and will be based across Gloucester City.

The job:
- Supporting families with day to day tasks such as food shopping, attending appointments and accessing other services.
- Running group sessions for children, young people and their families.
- Enabling families to access local community groups
- Working alongside colleagues to provide support to children, young people and families; offer advice and guidance, create and source resources, complete direct work with children and more
- Assisting in the smooth running of the children & family centres
- Taking part in team activities and projects
- Taking an active role in note taking during meetings and visits in a range of inclusive ways
- Assisting colleagues to run activity groups and parenting programmes
We are looking for individuals who can:
- Listen to and communicate effectively with children, young people, families and professionals
- Be organised
- Be an active member of the team
- Follow Barnardo's safeguarding and child protection procedures (with training)
All of the above will come with guidance and training and there will be opportunities for you to develop your knowledge, experience and learning within the role.
You will work closely with Family Support Workers and alongside the management team, who will guide you through your journey as an Assistant Project Worker.
