Project Manager

Gloucester

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our friendly and inclusive team!

Summary of the Role

Inclusion Gloucestershire is a respected user-led disabled people’s organisation and registered charity, run by disabled people for disabled people.  Approximately 60% of our staff and 90% of our volunteers have disability, mental health or are neurodivergent.  We are passionate, person-centred and inclusive and have a track record of high quality delivery.

We deliver to a range of diverse projects, all user-led and all with the aim to provide a voice and improve the lives of disabled people. We are seeking someone with a range of project management skills who can enable us to build our capacity to deliver projects. Co-production will be an integral part of your work and you will be working alongside individuals with lived experience of disability. This will need to be factored into project planning, methodology and timescales.  The role also includes some direct line management.

The role will be managing a range of projects. Please note, the role is suitable for a job share and specific elements of the role can be applied for. The hours listed below indicate the number of hours available if just selecting that project.

Inclusion Hubs (12.5 hours per week):

We have 4 user-led Inclusion Hubs across in Gloucester, the Forest of Dean and Cheltenham. The hubs provide social connection, skill development and links with local activity providers for individuals facing disabling barriers. Partnership Boards (4 hours per week):

Autistic Youth Projects (1 hour per week):

We employ a Coordinator and a Project worker to deliver two different projects for neurodivergent young people. One is a self-advocacy workshop and another is co-delivering a post-diagnosis support programme. This is funded by Gloucestershire County Council and Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Community Mental Health Transformation (7.5 hours per week funded until 31 March 2025):

This project facilitates participation of Experts by Experience project workers in a co-production group and other forums. Project workers coproduce and co-deliver engagement activity with those with lived experience of serious mental illness as an integral part of the transformation of Community Mental Health services in Gloucestershire. You will provide line management to the project coordinator.  This is funded by Gloucestershire Health and Care Foundation Trust.

MHELO (2 hours per week):

MHELO is a network for people with lived experience of mental health issues, that runs engagement activities, consultation sessions and events to make positive changes to mental health services in Gloucestershire. The project employs Expert by Experience project workers who coproducemengagement alongside volunteers and two Co-chairs who attend key meetings to represent the views of the network. You will provide line management support to the project coordinator. This is funded by Gloucestershire County Council and NHS Gloucestershire.

If applying for all, this would be a 27 hour per week role. For external applicants, at least 10 hours per week must be applied for.

Job Purpose:

To lead, develop, monitor and report on projects, ensuring that staff are well supported, funders are well informed, and the project delivers against deadlines and targets to the highest possible standards, whilst ensuring that we stay true to our user-led values.

We are proud to have been recognised with an Inclusive Employer award but realise that people from some backgrounds are under-represented in our workforce and across the wider charity sector. A more diverse workforce will enable us to deliver even more impact and we particularly encourage applications from communities which are often underrepresented. This includes people from ethnically diverse communities, people with lived experience of disability or mental ill health, and people who are neurodiverse.
