Receptionist and Sales Assistant

Stroud

A minimum of 35 hours per week
Monday – Friday 10.00am – 6.00pm with occasional weekend working
£27,500 per annum
(Initial Fixed Term Contract for 1 year)
Based in Chalford, Stroud

Pangolin Editions Ltd is a world leading art foundry based in Chalford, Stroud. Our skilled, innovative and dynamic team of craftspeople originate, cast and fabricate art works and public sculpture from the very small to the monumental for some of the foremost artists of our time.

About the role
We are looking for someone who is proactive with a positive energy to join our Gallery Team to assist in all manner of administrative tasks and sales responsibilities. The role involves actively greeting clients and customers alike, and engaging in conversations about each sculpture to maximise the potential for a sale.

Key areas of the role:
• Working as part of a small and friendly Gallery Team, you will be responsible for a manner of administrative tasks.
• You will be expected to greet visitors, provide information about the current exhibitions, and answer any questions to enhance their gallery experience.
• Handle sales transactions for artwork purchases, including processing payments and arranging for delivery or pickup.
• You will assist in the installation and de-installation of exhibitions, including handling artworks and preparing gallery spaces.
• You will assist with the coordination of artists and curators for the shipment and receipt of artworks, ensuring safe handling and proper documentation.
• You will assist with scheduling and organising gallery events, such as openings, artist talks, and private viewings to promote exhibitions and engage the community.

About you
• You will have previous experience in a client-facing role with a background of sales.
• You will have experience and extensive knowledge in populating websites and navigating social media and mailchimp platforms.
• You will be proficient in Indesign, Microsoft Office and have a strong understanding of general administrative practices.
• You will be a confident individual with a positive and cheery outlook, with the ability to think outside the box to contribute ideas which will assist with the success of the Pangolin Gallery.
