Leaders of The Rissington School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant who has a desire to help children learn well and support teaching staff in the day-to-day delivery of lessons and interventions. This post is to support children and staff in our Year 3-4 cohort.

We are looking for a professional with good interpersonal skills, who loves working with and can relate to children, is organised and adaptable. The successful candidate should be a good team player as well as take on ideas and attend training as required. Fortnightly TA Meetings provide additional opportunities for support staff to share good practice and support one another while additional CPD is available as required to ensure the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills to effectively support children through our curriculum and interventions.

We are very proud of the commitment and enthusiasm that children at The Rissington School have for their learning. Children are engaged with their learning in the classroom and enjoy a broad and varied curriculum. Children learn in mixed-age classes and are supported by a dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants, who work brilliantly together. Strong relationships between staff, staff and children and staff and parents very much creates our supportive school community.

Teaching Assistants at The Rissington School support children beyond the classroom. During lunchtimes, they support children during their lunch and play as Playworkers. We very much value the support that our Playworkers provide the children during this time – lunchtimes are an integral part of the school day and we aim to ensure each child has an enjoyable and successful lunchtime, made even more successful being supported by staff that the children already have strong relationships with.

Our school is a split-site school and this post is, in the first instance, to be based at our Great Rissington site. This post is for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings (9:00am-12:15pm) paid at Grade 3 plus one lunchtime 12:15-1:15pm on a Thursday paid at Grade 2.

The closing date for applications is Monday 10th February at 9am. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by the end of the day and interviews will take place later that week. We very much welcome visits to the school, so please contact senco@greatrissington.gloucs.sch.uk to arrange a visit. If you have any questions about the role or contract, please also contact us.
