Lead Care and Education Support Worker

Salary: £25,402 - £26,529 (pro rata)

(Salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract: Permanent, Term-time only (39 weeks from last week of August until week 38 of college calendar)

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday (with one later finish on occasion for staff meetings)

Required: 28th April 2025

Cirencester College are searching for a dedicated and compassionate Lead Care and Education Support Worker to join our team on a permanent basis.

This position combines educational support with personal care and leadership responsibilities. As a Lead Care and Education Support Worker, you will:

Work closely with students to support their progress in life skills, social interaction, and independence.
Provide personal and intimate care, including assistance with toileting, feeding, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
Act as a mentor and role model for other support staff, offering guidance to ensure high standards of care.
Assist with planning and coordinating support for students with physical disabilities.
Liaise with external specialists to aid the smooth transition of care and relevant training of staff.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to keeping up-to-date records


We are looking for a candidate with:

Experience working with individuals with learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities in an education or care setting.
Ideally, a relevant Level 2 qualification (e.g., health and social care, education, or a related field).
A proactive, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting young adults with complex needs.
Leadership potential, with the ability to inspire and guide colleagues.
A commitment to ongoing professional development.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and collaborative mindset.
