Teaching Assistant

Stroud

Salary: NJC Grade 4, Scale point 07 – 10 (£24,294 to £25,545 per annum pro rata) (Actual starting salary £18,847 per annum)

Full-time/Part-time 33 hours 10 minutes per week, term time only plus inset days
Monday to Thursday 08:45-16:00 & Friday 08:45-15:45 (with a daily 40-minute unpaid break) plus 30 minutes per week for team meetings
Term time only plus INSET days.

Experience:

Experience with children/young people with ASD would be an advantage.

St Rose's provision is from 2 to 25 years; a nursery, a non-maintained special school for students from 5 to 19 and St Martin’s an independent specialist college for students from 19 to 25. Our students have physical and sensory disabilities, learning and communication difficulties and complex health needs.

We are looking for committed Teaching Assistants to work with our students to give them the individual attention they need to help them achieve their potential and to assist them with their personal care needs.

JOB DESCRRIPTION

Teaching Assistant

Responsible to:   Principal

Line Manager:  Teacher/Lead TA

Purpose

To contribute to the provision of a safe, healthy and educationally valuable environment for students and to assist teaching staff in the provision of high quality teaching.

General duties

To help each student to work to his or her own full intellectual, spiritual, physical, creative,  social and emotional potential by helping to provide an interesting and positive environment in which the student can feel comfortable, secure and able to thrive.
