Teacher of Religious Studies

Cheltenham

Start date: September 2025
Contract: Fixed Term until the end of August 2025 (possibility of being extended)
Responsible to: Head of Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cheltenham Bournside School as a Teacher of Religious Studies. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Studies to join our lively RS department.

The Religious Studies Department at Bournside consists of Head of RS and a team of 3 specialist teachers. The successful candidate will be a key part of the team and will contribute to the strengths of the department. They will teach highly motivated and talented pupils from Year 7 to 13, planning and preparing courses and lessons according to their educational needs and providing guidance and advise on their further education and future careers. Religious Studies is very popular subject at Cheltenham Bournside School, with classes in both GSCE and A Level.

We believe in learning outside of the classrooms with trips to Bristol, London and as well as more locally in Cheltenham. All teachers will take part and contribute to these trips and we welcome new ideas for developing our current fieldwork offer.

The post would be an ideal opportunity for a new entrant to the profession although equally attractive to a more experienced colleague. We have a positive commitment to supporting Early Career Teachers and a comprehensive staff development programme.
