Family Support Worker

Cheltenham

Start Date:  ASAP

Full time 37 hours a week, all year round

Contract: Fixed term contract for 12 months until 2025, with potential to extend.  Secondments welcome.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Family Support Worker to join our professional and dedicated Targeted Family Support Team. This is a full-time role for a fixed term; for 12 months initially until 2025, with potential to extend.

To make a vital contribution to the direct delivery of a high-quality targeted family support service for families with children aged 0 - 11 years old across Cheltenham and Tewkesbury localities.

Working as part of a team to deliver programmes of intervention to improve parenting, resolve issues and improve functioning in families.  Participating in a multi-disciplinary approach to working with families and co-ordinate partnerships and services to meet the needs of families.

The successful candidate will work alongside Gloucestershire County and District Councils teams, Independent Agencies, local partnerships and the voluntary sector to support and implement the countywide Early Help offer.

The successful candidate will have NVQ 4 or above in childcare, education, health and social care or NVQ 3 in Child Care, Health or Social Care and expectation to work towards a Level 4.  You will also demonstrate a willingness to undertake other training appropriate to the role.

The post holder will be required to work at any of the Children and Family Centres operated by the Aspire Foundation across the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury area.

As part of the recruitment process you will be asked to complete an interview and a short task related to the post of Family Support Worker. Any appointment will be subject to references (which we will request for all short-listed candidates prior to interview) and a clear disclosure record from the DBS.
In accordance with a data retention policy we will keep all paperwork related to the recruitment of this post for 6 months after which it will be destroyed.
