Junior Software Engineer

Cheltenham

Hexiosec, a Cheltenham based cyber security company, is looking for a junior software engineer to join our product team in a hybrid working environment, with a unique opportunity to help build and make a success of our growing platform.

The role would have an initial focus on our online Attack Surface Management (ASM) application, and would include web development to help build intuitive and easy to use web applications for our products. The power of ASM is in our data collection and analysis, where we use a range of techniques, tools and programming languages to build an adaptable platform. The role would include engineering opportunities with all aspects of the product, making this a full stack development role.

Our current products are cloud hosted solutions, and you would gain experience in using the best tools for the job, including Go, Vue 3, TypeScript, JavaScript, NodeJS, Kubernetes, Helm and Terraform. The role would include the research and development of new capabilities and products, leveraging the latest technologies, whether it's AI or a new programming language, or emerging frameworks to drive innovation. We don't expect applicants to have experience in all tools and technologies listed, just a willingness to learn.

At Hexiosec, you’ll be part of a collaborative and experienced team that values knowledge sharing and professional growth. You’ll work alongside senior engineers with diverse backgrounds, as well as our services (consultancy) team, gaining exposure to real-world cybersecurity challenges and benefiting from their expertise.

Beyond engineering, you’ll have the chance to contribute to various aspects of our growing business, including customer-facing activities in sales and marketing, helping shape how we engage with our clients and the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with the team to create and maintain products to a high standard.
• Supporting the development of new features, through development, reviews and testing.
• Taking responsibility for resolving bugs and implementing new features.
• Undertake research into new technologies and capabilities to aid our engineering and the products themselves.
• Participating in regular sprint planning and other team or company meetings.
