SPORTS CAMP COACHES
Cheltenham
The Sports Coach is a provider of holiday childcare through Sport and Activity. In conjunction with Cheltenham based school venues, funds are raised for all parties from the Sports Camp programme.
The role of a Sports Camp Coach is to ensure the welfare and safety of the children on camp is maintained at all times, and to deliver outstanding, structured sport and play activities. You will be expected to deliver, alongside other Sports Coaches & Camp Leaders, sports activities to children aged
between 4 and 11 years, with the emphasis being on participation, structure, facilitation for children having fun in a safe environment. As well as leading sessions, staff will contribute to the high standard of physical, emotional, and social care offered each week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver activities for children aged 4-11, focusing on participation, development and enjoyment
- Ensure all policies and procedures on camp are adhered to by yourself and the children in your care, including all health and safety, and safeguarding procedures
- Continuously promote the welfare of the children in your care
- Take a pastoral role as a group leader, welcoming new children into your group and liaising with other staff and/or parents as necessary
- Supervision of children outside of activity times
- At all times behave in a manner that reflects the expectations of our camps & the school the camp is base at (this may include school ethos & values)
- Show the required energy, enthusiasm and professionalism for the duration of the camp week, acting as an ambassador for each Sports Camp & the Primary School and behaving as a suitable role model for children
- Other ad-hoc duties (cleaning, equipment maintenance etc).
Requirements:
- Qualified in, or working towards a NGB Level 2 sports coaching qualification or QTS trained, with experience of working with children and delivering sports activities
* Previous Sports Camp experience would be desirable but not essential
* Enhanced DBS checked & Paediatric First Aid trained would be a good added extra
- Able to tailor delivery and structure according to age and ability
- Enthusiastic, energetic individual, passionate about working with, and developing children through play and activity
- Good organisation and communication skills
- Flexible, team player, able to adapt to dynamic situations and challenges on camp days

Seasonal work available in school holidays (Half-Terms, Easter, Summer etc) starting with October Half-Term (30th October - 3rd November 2023)

Salary: £350-600 per week dependent on experience (self-employed coaches preferred but not essential)
