Chilled Warehouse Supervisor

With the arrival of our brand new building - and an extended Warehouse Unit - in May 2024, Cotteswold Dairy are looking for an experienced Supervisor with excellent communication skills and a 'get the job done' attitude to join the Warehouse Team in Tewkesbury.

You will be a hard worker who is not afraid to work alongside your colleagues in the Warehouse, assisting with the loading and unloading of goods onto vehicles to keep the Warehouse running smoothly. Deputising for the Warehouse Manager in his absence, the role requires a motivational and positive character, with a keen eye for detail, accuracy and safety. Our Supervisors play a key role in assessing, measuring and mentoring our team members - so you will be a people person with and understanding of the challenges faced in a cold environment - happy communicating with colleagues from different cultures and nationalities.

You will have experience in picking and packing roles, and be confident in checking orders against tickets to ensure accuracy at all times. You will think 'safety first' and ensure that all policies and best practice is adhered to; working alongside management, production, maintenance and quality control in order to report and rectify any issues that may arise.

Chilled Warehouse Supervisor - Working Hours

You will work five shifts per week over Monday - Saturday, with a day off on a rota basis

Average 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week, with start times between 0600 and 0900

As a supervisor, you will be expected to work in a flexible way to support during breaks, holidays and absence

Chilled Warehouse Supervisor - Training

We are a leading training base in the local community, with clear progression pathways and dedicated learning & development staff on site. We offer leadership and academic qualifications, practical training and personal development opportunities to our team through the year. We have on-site trainers for practical courses, such as Powered Pallet Trucks and Forklift Training. Our academic learning and development team support employees with any written work, and our quality team ensure excellent training with HACCP and Food Safety qualifications. 

The ideal candidate will hold a counterbalance forklift licence, however training can be provided for the right candidate. Our Cotteswold Academy runs throughout the year, allowing employees an insight to many areas of the business outside of their own role. Our supervisors will be expected to support this environment of development, by coaching their team and creating a positive and motivating environment for all.

Chilled Warehouse Supervisor - Key Skills

• Warehouse experience, picking, packing and checking
• Excellent people management skills, strong communication and the ability to motivate others
• Pride in attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision are standardised
• Strong planning and organisational skills

Desirable skills:

• Experience as a team leader or supervisor
• Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (renewed within the last 3 years)
• IT literate to include Microsoft Word and Excel
