Mickleton Primary School is a friendly one-form-entry school in a delightful village setting. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and qualified SEND Teaching Assistant, to support children with EHCPs in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This position is temporary, for the duration of the EHCP and dependent on funding. This will be reviewed annually. The hours will be 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.15am – 3.15pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, term-time only (0.7538 FTE).

We seek someone who:
• has experience of working with children with behavioural needs
• has experience of working with children with communication difficulties
• has knowledge and experience of My Plans, EHCPs and reviewing and setting targets
• is confident in working with students on a 1:1 basis, with small groups and assisting the class teachers where necessary
• has knowledge and experience of working in the primary phases
• is able to work alongside outside agencies (including attending meetings) to support the learning and development of the child
• has good interpersonal skills especially when dealing with children, colleagues and parents/carers whilst upholding the ethos of the school
• can establish good relationships with children whilst setting firm boundaries
• is sensitive to the social and emotional implications for the child
• is able to identify children's strengths and targets to help build their development
• is supportive and keen to work as a part of a dedicated team and to be involved in village school life
• will support and enhance the values of our school.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to sign a Declaration of Criminal Record and Other Relevant Information form prior to interview. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and will be required to produce relevant documentation before the post commences.

As part of our due diligence within safer recruitment, school will be carrying out online searches to help identify any incidents or issues which may need to be explored at interview. These searches will include, but will not be limited to, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
