The Gloucestershire Educational Psychology Service (EPS) apply specialist knowledge to support children and young people, schools and families across Gloucestershire.

The Detail

We align our service values with the recent BPS Campaign (October 2024) for equitable access to EPs in England.

 

We seek to:

We believe that psychologists are best effective when they are in schools/settings with enough time to do a range of work.  As such, we have moved to a planning/consultation model offering a wide core offer to all schools and settings in the county - alongside the establishment of a comprehensive workforce development offer and strategic projects. 

We have strategic initiatives which include mental health in schools; ELSA and ELKLAN, promoting functional skills and independence for young people.

To allow us to be the service we want to be, we have received funding to increase the size of the EPS.  We are recruiting to a number of additional EP posts across the county.

The recruitment is intended to allow EPs to spend more time in schools and settings building relationship and inclusion by working on bringing about change rather than documenting needs, as well as promoting projects and wider application of psychology within education.  

We are looking for innovative and solution focused EPs, committed to consultation to join us and be part of this journey. They will have a firm commitment to the delivery of children’s workforce development and development support for parents.
