Physiotherapist - Band 5 - C9327-24-0547
Stroud
Job summary
Due to promotion within the team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and skilled Physiotherapist to join the Integrated Community Team (ICT) in the Stroud District. The ICT consists of Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and the Home First/Reablement Team.
We work collaboratively with the wider MDT within our service and our Integrated Care System (ICS) partners to enable individuals to remain as healthy and independent as possible within their own homes.
As a band 5 Physiotherapist in the ICT you will manage a varied caseload including neurological rehabilitation, falls assessment and prevention and long-term conditions working in a fully integrated MDT setting. There may also be opportunities to support patients through the Home First and Reablement pathways. We are a friendly and supportive team and place a strong emphasis on professional development.
Main duties of the job
You will assist in the supervision of students and physiotherapy and reablement assistants.
We have a genuine interest in and commitment to the training and development of our band 5 staff. As a result, we have developed a band 5 physiotherapy preceptorship programme. The aim of this programme is to equip new graduates with the necessary skills, knowledge base and attributes needed to progress their physiotherapy careers. You will have an experienced band 6 preceptor and will receive regular appraisal and clinical supervision as part of this scheme.
We have developed a comprehensive band 5 training plan relevant to each clinical area, including respiratory, neurology, MSK and falls. In addition to this you will play an active part in the rehabilitation in-service training programme.
Very close links exist with the band 7 Clinical Specialists working in the Falls Assessment and Education service and Community Neurology service.
You need to be:
- Self-motivated
- Committed to your own personal development
- A dynamic and flexible team player
- Committed to provision of a high level of care through evidence-based practice
- Have NHS experience gained through previous employment or student placements
The post holder must have the ability to travel between sites and to patient's homes.
Please ensure that you are available to attend the interview on the date above if shortlisted. All interviews will be conducted in person and not via Teams.
About us
At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are supportive of the people we care for in the community and aim to provide a fully responsive service to everyone who needs it. This is the same approach we take for our employees. We look to value the skills and experiences of those we work with, whether they are service users, carers, families or those looking to work with us.
Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is part of the NHS. We treat NHS patients according to NHS principles and standards. The difference is the Trust is accountable to local people, rather than to Government, and so we are able to work closely with our community to develop services in the way that best suits the needs of local people.
Our Staff Survey results showed people at our Trust feel they are engaged, part of a team and work for a compassionate and inclusive organisation.
Our overall scores were better than average in eight of nine themes and level in one - the best overall results for a community, mental health and learning disabilities Trust in the south west and first equal amongst all sector NHS providers within the region too.
