Walking Buddy Volunteer - Sports Team
Stroud
Do you like getting out in the fresh air?
Could you use your skills to support a small group enjoy walking?
Are you enthusiastic about working to create a more inclusive community in Gloucestershire?
Then the role of Allsorts Walking Buddy could be for you.
Why do we need you?
Allsorts is a pioneering local charity that works with families with children who have disabilities or additional needs. Strongly rooted in the local community, we want to involve as many people as we can in building an inclusive Gloucestershire where people with disabilities and additional needs are included and able to contribute.
We’re growing all the time, with new families joining and new activities being developed.
Your role as a volunteer will help us to share more of what we do with families in Gloucestershire.
How much time should you offer? When would you be needed? Where will you be
based?
- As many Mondays in a month you can spare?
- The group walks every Monday for 2 - 3 hours
- This role is based within the Stroud District.
What activities will you be involved in?
- Meet with a staff member and the group to discuss the possible walks the group would like to do, and to understand their capabilities.
- To meet weekly.
- Ensure that the group is comfortable with walking and liaise with the staff team about any queries or concerns.

Is there an induction and training?
- You will receive a full induction
What are we looking for?
- A reasonable level of fitness to comfortably undertake the walks
- A friendly and cheerful manner
- An ability to keep records and an understanding of the need for confidentiality.
- A sense of humour
- Reliable
- An understanding of disabilities and additional needs (training provided)
Due to the nature of this role volunteers will be required to complete a DBS form and provide referees.
