Join Our Trustee Board - Make a Difference with North and West - Voluntary Position
Gloucester
North and West Gloucestershire Citizens Advice (N&WGCA) is seeking passionate individuals to join our Trustee Board. As a trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our organisation and ensuring we continue to provide high-quality, accessible advice to those who need it most. The Board currently meets 6 times a year for full board meetings, we also hold a strategy day. In addition, trustees can contribute at both a local and national level in their specialist areas.
What Does a Trustee Do?
Our trustees are responsible for:
- Setting the strategic direction of Citizens Advice
- Ensuring sound governance and overseeing financial and operational performance
- Supporting our management team, who lead day-to-day service delivery
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a meaningful impact in your local community.
Who Are We Looking For?
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. In addition to the skills and knowledge required for the responsibilities outlined above, we would love to hear from you if you bring lived experience or expertise in any of the following areas:
- Equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Marketing and fundraising
- Property management
- The charity sector
- Networking – Connections to useful individuals or organisations e.g. high net worth individuals, local government, NHS
We are particularly interested in local individuals who have knowledge of the North and West Gloucestershire area and have previously used our services. We also strongly encourage young people and individuals from underrepresented groups to apply, as we are committed to enhancing the diversity of our trustee board. Your perspective will help strengthen our work and broaden our reach.
