Fundraising Admin Support Volunteer
Leckhampton Court Hospice
About the role
In this role you’ll be supporting Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice with administrative tasks that ensure the smooth running of fundraising activities in the community. You will be helping to make sure your local hospice can be here for today, tomorrow and in the future.
Key activities will include:
- Data entry, filing, typing and general office duties
- Database administration
- Counting donations, both cash and cheque accurately
- Making and receiving phone calls
- Updating and reorganising digital documents
- Assist with handling incoming and outgoing mail
- Office-based support with event planning and preparation
- Communication with donors and volunteers e.g. sending welcome emails, event information, thank you messages
How often we’d like your support
Ideally we hope you’ll choose to volunteer 3 - 6 hours a week, however all our roles are flexible and times should be agreed with your local centre.
The skills and experience you’ll need for this role
You will need:
- An organised and systematic approach
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Good computer skills – able to use the internet and Microsoft Excel to complete research and produce easy to use databases
- A basic level of numeracy
- Good written & spoken English
- Good communication skills
- The ability to plan own work load, carry out your research independently and reporting back

In addition to the specific duties and responsibilities outlined in this profile, all Sue Ryder volunteers should be aware of their specific responsibilities:
- Demonstrating a commitment to undergoing relevant checks, ongoing training and following all Sue Ryder policies and procedures
- Adhering to all health and safety and fire regulations and to cooperate with the Charity in maintaining good standards of health and safety
- Promoting a positive attitude towards diversity and inclusion within the Charity
- Demonstrating a commitment to Sue Ryder’s aims, objectives, core values and behaviours
- All volunteers are expected to understand their duties and responsibilities relating to data protection. They should familiarise themselves with the Sue Ryder Data Protection policy and complete any related training requested of them
