Tetbury
Time commitment: Up to 8 hours per month
Starting: January / February 2025
The Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum (FOWA) are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to strengthen and diversify our Board of Trustees!
FoWA is a registered charity based at Westonbirt, the National Arboretum, in Tetbury, Wiltshire. We were set up in 1985 when a small group of enthusiasts decided they wanted to help preserve and develop this unique landscape.
Our work helps to support Westonbirt Arboretum, with over 15,000 trees and 600 acres of woodland. Our charitable aims are to further public enjoyment and knowledge of this world-renowned tree collection and to secure its sustainable future. We do this by engaging, informing and increasing membership and by giving financial and practical support to the management and development of Westonbirt, The National Arboretum.
To realise our vision the charity relies on the support and guidance of a dedicated and skilled Board of Trustees, who volunteer their time to be actively involved in the strategic direction, governance and decision-making of the organisation and are fundamental to ensuring the charity is well governed. And this is where you could come in!
We are looking for individuals with a high level of integrity, ability to work effectively as a member of a team and a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties as a trustee. Ideally we are looking for people who have experience in fundraising, finance and legal/conveyancing to complement our current range of board expertise.
Do you think you would like to be part of Westonbirt’s story, contribute to the legacy of our charity and have a few hours a month to dedicate to our cause? If so, click ‘Apply Now’ to be directed to our website where you can download our Trustee recruitment pack and find out how to apply – we can’t wait to hear from you!
