Reporting to: Warehouse Manager
Summary of role
This position primarily relates to the timely and accurate receipt of stock deliveries, the picking of grid customer orders and timely put away of all good’s inbound items. A strong team player mentality and attention to detail essential as is the openness to learn and develop new skills.
Warehouse
The right candidate should be able to recognise the following:
- The importance of accuracy
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Warehouse Managers or Supervisors
- Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment – 5s
- Following workplace health and safety rules without exception
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
- Assisting with warehouse inventory controls, which typically involves using a hand-held scanner
- Treating merchandise with care at all times
- Be able to assist other departments when required
The right Warehouse Operative should have:
- Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of a warehouse team.
- Experience of dispatching
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and effectively prioritise workload
- Previous experience with Warehouse management systems such as SAGE and related handheld scanning technology.
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills to coordinate large volumes of goods
- Honest, transparent and reliable
- Experience in the safe and timely loading and unloading of vehicles both large and small.
- FLT Counterbalance and Pivot truck Licence – Desirable however training will be provided where necessary.
- Basic IT skills
