Youth Worker - Frith Youth Centre
Bussage, near Stroud
The Frith Youth Centre is a valued community hub where young people engage in a range of activities in a safe and welcoming environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic Youth Worker to join our team and help deliver high-quality open-access youth sessions for young people aged 10–17 years.
Working Hours (Including Set-Up & Pack Away):
Mondays & Thursdays: 3:15 pm – 7:45 pm (4.5 hours each)
Fridays: 3:15 pm – 7:15 pm (4 hours)
Total: 13 hours per week
Additional hours for training, appraisals, and meetings can be agreed upon as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Deliver engaging youth work sessions that support young people’s development
✅ Plan and lead activities that encourage participation and creativity
✅ Support administrative tasks (sign-in forms, accident reporting, session evaluations)
✅ Set up, pack away, and ensure the space is clean and safe before, during, and after sessions
✅ Attend occasional meetings related to the management and operation of the youth centre
✅ Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all young people
✅ Undertake outreach work in the community and collaborate with local schools and organisations
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
✔ Experience working with young people in a paid or voluntary role
✔ Ability to form positive relationships and create a welcoming atmosphere
✔ Confidence in planning and delivering youth activities
✔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✔ Enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for youth development
✔ Awareness of challenges young people face
✔ Commitment to inclusivity and safeguarding
Desirable:
➕ Youth work or relevant qualification (e.g., support, counselling)
➕ Personal interests in sports, music, arts, or other youth-friendly activities
➕ Experience working with young people facing challenges
➕ Understanding of youth issues in the Chalford Parish area
➕ Experience using social media to promote youth activities
