Attendance and Family Communications Officer

Cheltenham

Permanent, Full Time Term Time Only plus one week in the school holidays

At Pate’s, we pride ourselves on a proactive approach to supporting our young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Every member of staff is a pastoral member of staff. The Personal Development Curriculum supports students’ comprehensive pastoral education through RSHE lessons, tutor time, assemblies, Tuesday afternoon enrichment (TPM), Information and Guidance (IAG) and Activities Fortnight.

We are extremely proud of our pastoral provision, which is staffed by a dedicated team of 7 Heads of Year, 2 Assistant Heads of Year, Pastoral Managers, SENDCo, Head of PDC, KS3 – 4 and KS5 Attendance Officers and a dedicated Safeguarding Team.

Every member of the team is an integral part of our school community in proactively responding to students’ needs and supporting the development of lifelong skills and strategies, to nurture happy and well-rounded young people.

The Role.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Attendance and Family Communications Officer to join our team at Pate’s Grammar School.

In this role you play a key part in supporting the regular and punctual attendance of our students, a key factor in their academic success and overall well-being. You will work closely with students, parents/carers, and school staff to address attendance issues, implement strategies for improvement, and promote a positive school environment.

You will have experience of working with young people and their families, along with a passion for supporting these young people in their education. This will be supported by your attention to detail and organised approach to your work.

Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents/carers and staff are key to this role, along with your empathy, patience and positive approach.
