Play Volunteer - Family Team
Stroud
Are you passionate about working with children and young people with additional needs?
Would you like to give time to a local, innovative charity? Would you enjoy helping children and young people learn and develop useful skills through play and while doing that have lots of fun?
Why do we need you?
Allsorts is a pioneering local charity that works with families with children who have disabilities or additional needs. Strongly rooted in the local community, we want to involve as many people as we can in building an inclusive Gloucestershire where people with disabilities and additional needs are included and able to contribute.
We’re growing all the time, with new families joining and new activities being developed for children with additional needs as well as the wider public.
How much time should you offer? When would you be needed? Where will you be based?
You will be based at the Allsorts Hub in Stroud and will be required between 9.30am – 1pm on a Saturday.
What activities will you be involved in?
Your role will be to encourage play in children with disabilities and additional needs. Setting up the session, clearing after the session and some cleaning of areas if required.

Is there an induction and training?
- You will receive a full induction before you start
What are we looking for?
- A friendly approach.
- Someone with good communication skills and confidence in working with children with disabilities and additional needs.
- A calm and kind approach towards children and young people who exhibit unpredictable behavior
- A general enthusiasm to work with children and young people.
Due to the nature of this role volunteers will be required to complete a DBS form and provide referees.
